DIEGO-OCAÑA-M

Diego Ocaña Aguilar

Diego is a Senior Lighting designer (IALD, IES) who began his career in the world of lighting at the beginning of 1994, collaborating with his renowned mentor Ernesto Diz (IESNA, USSIT, ABTT) on lighting sets in the Colón Opera Theaher in Buenos Aires (Argentina), just before graduating as an Architect from the University of Buenos Aires.
Then the work of the new Estudio DIZ was based on the lighting design of architectural works at a national and international level and the development of stage machinery for emblematic theaters. During his professional work in the studio, it became the most important in the region, executing the most important works of its time.
Also highlighted is his extensive pedagogical and academic experience developed at the University of Buenos Aires, where he was an associate professor, until his relocation to Spain in 2001. In search of new horizons, he has taken advantage of his Spanish nationality to begin a career in Europe that will leads to developing projects in different countries.
In Spain he has collaborated with top-level companies designing and executing important works of varied typology and scale, but mostly in hospitality and entertainment, which could be said to be his preference and specialty. In 2017 he began an extensive collaboration as an associate of the ALS Lighting studio in Bilbao, with whom he has collaborated on large-scale international projects.
Lately he has supervised the lighting of the Sports Boulevard Mega-Project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as well as advising on various projects in the Kingdom.

FABIAN-MERCADO

Fabián Mercado

At the age of 15 he worked as a DJ and lighting artist in Chivilcoy (Argentina), his hometown. Without even finishing secondary education, he had already designed the technical equipment for his first Discoclub.
He graduated as a Programmer and Systems Analyst because “computers were going to control sound and lighting systems in the near future.”
He then continued his training as a video editor, television lighting technician, live and studio sound recording technician. In 1998, after several years of working in radio and TV productions, he began pursuing a career in film and TV direction. He started working as a lighting assistant at Estudio Diz, the most important lighting studio in Argentina, where he met Diego Ocaña.
There he works collaborating both on a technical and artistic level in theater and architectural lighting. At Estudio Diz the most important Theaters, Auditoriums and TV Studios in South America are designed. At the same time, the most relevant architectural lighting projects in the region are carried out.
In 2003 he decided to move to Spain to continue his growth as a Lighting Designer and in a few years he managed to design iconic places in Spain. Also in these years he dedicated himself to teaching, teaching subjects related to cinema and TV.
In 2012, after visiting the Shanghai Lighting Fair, he decided to delve into laser lighting for shows. He returns to work in the entertainment industry as an illuminator and laser show designer. To date, he continues his artistic evolution by performing Mapping with 3D Laser equipment for mega cultural events and advising companies in America and Europe in Sound, lighting and video.

ANGEL-SANDIMAS

Ángel sandimas

Angel is a multifaceted artist who transitions from the creation for architectural spaces to the creation of advanced digitally inspired content for the museographic field and special effects for audiovisual content.
He was born in Pamplona (Spain) and worked for many years as a creative interior designer and airbrushing specialist before moving into the audio-visual sector as a director specialized in Digital Animation.He worked for several years as a digital artist as well as participating in the design of several sets for various films. He then completed his education in Computer Generated Imaginary CGI in Madrid.
Later he started working into a creative team dedicated to the creation of digital content for museums and multimedia shows, becoming director of several very successful audio-visual works. He became responsible for conducting the special effects and digital archaeology recreations for several museums in the Basque Country.
He started as freelancer in the production of 3D musical videos and awarded animation films. Nowadays he combines his work as a freelance in special effects for films with his expertise in videomapping creation. He has participated in several film festivals and was selected to be part of the Jury at Cinanima International Festival, one of the most important worldwide since it qualifies for the Oscars and is the longest and the most consolidated festival in the world of animation.
In the last time he has been responsible for numerous mappings in Spain collaborating with different studies and also in international collaborations.
He has been a finalist and awarded in different International Festivals, International Mapping Contests, and with more than 40 selections in national and international animation film festivals.
